Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

You've heard about random acts of kindness — but what about random acts of Cold Stone? Today is your chance to experience an icy random act. Starting at 11 a.m.,  the Cold Stone Creamery at 1281 East 120th Avenue in Thornton will give free Like It Size ice cream — in a cup with a choice of one mix-in — to the first 250 people through the door. In return for the free treat, Cold Stone is hoping that the ice cream will inspire a few more good deeds from customers. Go to Cold Stone Creamery's Facebook page for more information, including where the next random act of Cold Stone could pop up.

For more Food & Drink events, go to our online calendar. If you know of an event that should be included in that calendar, send information to cafe@westword.com.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
