This week in Denver there are several opportunities to help out your community while enjoying some expertly prepared meals. Monday you can attend WomenCook! a benefit for Work Options for Women, and Thursday you can enjoy a meal out at one of over 250 restaurants joining together to benefit Project Angel Heart. Work Options for Women hosts its eleventh annual WomenCook! fundraiser tonight. The evening of food and wine will feature a walk-around-style dinner created by some of Denver’s best female chefs, representing top-rated restaurants from around Denver. There will also be a silent auction as well as a program highlighting WoW's students’ successes throughout the year. Participating chefs winclude Jennifer Jasinski of Rioja, Bistro Vendôme, Stoic & Genuine and Euclid Hall; Dana Rodriguez of Work & Class; Elise Wiggins of Panzano and many more. The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Temple Emanuel; tickets are $125, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Work Options for Women. Frasca Food and Wine's Monday Night Wine Dinner will feature the wines of Ronco delle Bettule, presented by Simone Secchi. Monday Night Wine Dinners are $50 per person for four courses, not including optional wine pairings. For reservations and more information, call 303-442-6966.

Le Central will host a unique cooking demonstration at which you can learn the five contemporary Mother Sauces, then enjoy a three-course meal showcasing them, all cooked up by comedian Sam Tallent. Tickets are $35; get yours and learn more here.
In the second installment of the Boulder Pizzeria Locale's Flour + Fire series, the focus is on local breweries. Epic Brewing will be on hand, and you can get acquainted with some of Epic's microbrews during an intimate, family-style meal, designed to showcase Locale’s pizza and explore traditional southern Italian cooking “al forno." Lower 48 Kitchen will introduce a prix fixe, $34 Tuesday Tasting Menu that features Texas-inspired dishes. Under the direction of chef Alex Figura, the menu rotates weekly, and always includes three courses. For reservations,call 303-942-0262.

Project Angel Heart has been serving meals to those coping with life-threatening illnesses since 1991. Over the years the nonprofit has served over 5,000,000 meals to those in need around metro Denver and in Colorado Springs. During today's Dining Out for Life, over 250 Denver and Boulder area restaurants will donate 25 percent of their food sales to Project Angel Heart. Enjoy a four course farm-to-table dinner, including cocktails and dessert, as well as live music and a silent auction at Noche de Museo tonight, a benefit for Museo de las Americas. The party runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Central Bistro and tickets are $75; learn more here.
