Get your Jew 'fro onto the label of He'Brew

This is a message to all the Chosen: Remember when you were thirteen and you wore your hand-me-down,powder-blue, three-piece suit to celebrate becoming a man? When Aunt Esther pinched your cheek so hard it made your soul hurt? Obviously, your mother was taking pictures of all of this -- and now those pictures could be on a beer can!

Shmaltz Brewing Company, the New York-based brewer of He'Brew, is holding a photo contest to celebrate its thirteenth 13th year. "This year HE'BREW Beer turns 13 and we are super excited to reach this monumental occasion," explains proprietor Jeremy Cowan. "The Bar/Bat Mitzvah in the Jewish tradition is a time to celebrate and recognize the coming of age for a Jewish boy or girl. Our Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah photo contest is a fun way to embrace the Jewish community!"

Entering the contest is easy: Just send your most embarrassing Bar/Bat Mitzvah photos to info@shmaltzbrewing.com or via Facebook by joining Shmaltz's group, "The Jewbelation 13 Project.'"The "best" (or worst, depending on your point of view) in each category -- Best Hair, Best Family Photo, Most Awkward Moment, Youngest-Looking Adult, Funniest Shot, Best-Dressed, Best Braces and Best Dance Moves -- will receive a He'Brew Bar Mitzvah Gift Set and will be featured on Shmaltz's website.

There's also the possibility that you could win the grand prize, and be featured on the Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah beer label.

In keeping with the thirteenth year theme, the Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah beer is made with thirteen hops, thirteen malts and will be climbing the alcohol scale to a meshugeh 13 percent. It will debut here in Denver at the Great American Beer Festival in September.
