There are a variety of events on Denver's plate this week, including an excellent lineup of free music at Chipotle's fledgling Cultivate Festival -- a celebration of "food, ideas and music" in City Park this weekend.
Here's a taste of the rest of the board:
Monday, October 1:
Panera Bread begins its 11th annual Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign today to support the Rocky Mountain Cancer Assistance and breast cancer research. The chain will donate 100 percent of proceeds from its signature Pink Ribbon Bagel sold today and ten cents from each ribboned bagel sold throughout October. Visit the website for more information.
Tuesday, October 2:
Cholon, 1555 Blake Street, is hosting a seminar for the Culinary Institute of America this evening. Attendees will have the opportunity to qualify for a $3,000 grant towards tuition to the reputable culinary institution; call 303-353-5223 for details.
Pizza Fusion, 571 East Colfax Avenue, is offering a monthly buy-one-get-one deal to raise awareness for social justice; the first is today in honor of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. Call the organic pizza chain at 303-830-0223 to learn more.Wednesday, October 3:
Chomp! takes place this evening at Green Spaces Colorado, 1368 26th Street. The monthly vegan supper club is featuring vegan-Mexican fare for a suggested donation of $7 to $10 -- view the menu and reserve a seat here. (But don't forget to bring your own utensils and plates to help cut down on waste.)
Thursday, October 4:
The last turn on "The Road to GABF" at Euclid Hall, 1317 14th Street, will feature Great Divide Brewery tonight. The paired beer dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and costs $50 (which includes beer); call 303-595-4255 to RSVP.Friday, October 5: Centro Latin Kitchen & Refreshment Palace, 950 Pearl Street in Boulder, is kicking off a three-day celebration of the New Mexican Hatch green chile harvest today. The festivities include chile-centric food and drink specials, giveaways, "feats of culinary strength" and a fiesta Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with live music from Mariachi Regoinale, pinatas, a chile roast, a pig roast, pepper eating contests and a green chile cook-off. Check the website for more details.Saturday, October 6:
Chipotle's Cultivate Food, Ideas & Music Festival goes down in City Park today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The one-day festival -- which Chipotle introduced last year in Chicago -- will celebrate fresh, sustainable and affordable food with local artisan food vendors, specialty beers and wine, kids' activities and more. There's also a killer lineup of live music (including Best Coast and Okkervil River); go to the website for more information.
