With the holidays you can gear up for the season by picking up some gifts while enjoying tasty treats -- or learn how to cook those treats so you can keep guests entertained -- and fed. Keep reading for two tasty culinary options tonight. See also: Top Five Badass Foodie Christmas Gifts for 2014

Cook Street School of Fine Cooking hosts a Culinary Date Night from 6 to 9:30 p.m. tonight, at which you can cook up more than delicious dishes. Two glasses of wine (one white and one red) are included with the meal -- and you can now purchase an additional bottle of wine for $29! Price per person (not couple) is $89; find more information here.

And if you want to cook up your own date night, The Fort is holding a Holiday Auction Party benefiting Tesoro Cultural Center from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight. Entry is free with a suggested $25 donation for an evening filled with music, art, jewelry, dancing, a live auction, cash bar and all you-can-eat appetizers including buffalo tenderloin sliders, wild game mincemeat pies, mountain man sausages and more. Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
