Hosea Rosenberg Stacks "America's Better Sandwich" Contest

It's been a busy month for Hosea Rosenberg, the Top Chef season five winner who's hoping to open his Blackbelly Market restaurant in Boulder next month, but took time out to team up with Sea Cuisine, a New York based fish company, in a taco demonstration at Coors Field last week, and now is working with Oroweat Bread on the first-ever "America's Better Sandwich" contest for National Sandwich Month.

The promises a $25,000 prize for the best sandwich; entries are due by August 22. You can find out how to enterhere.

In the meantime, to help inspire would-be contestants, Rosenberg has created his own recipe for the occasion: the BLAST, which he served from his food truck at Chive Fest this past weekend. BLAST (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Salmon, Tomato)

2 slices Oroweat® Whole Grains Health Nut® bread ½ oz low fat mayonnaise 2 oz smoked salmon, sliced 1-2 thick slices fresh ripe tomato 2 slices thin, crispy bacon 1/4 avocado 1-2 large leaves butter lettuce

Toast bread. On one slice spread mayonnaise. On other half, spread avocado. Lay bacon, tomato, lettuce, and salmon on one piece. Press the slices together and enjoy.

Take that, Top Chef!
