November is off to a fast start, with Quaker Steak & Lube opening its first store in Colorado, the homegrown Egg & I chain opening its 41st restaurant and the owners of Seoul BBQ opening Q Table BBQ.

And on Monday, after two weeks of practice, The Village at Edgewater also officially opened its doors at 5700 West 25th Avenue. "Searching for a healthy alternative to fast food, yet still want a place where your kids will feel welcome?" asks the web site. "Leisurely enjoy your meal while your children play in our 1,500 square foot play area, conveniently located within line of sight from any of our tables." The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch and snacks -- and also selling take-home dinners ($20 for two; $50 for six). Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
