The Taste of Colorado kicks off today and continues through Monday, September 7 at Civic Center Park. And you know what that means: Turkey legs! Of course, readers of this blog want nothing to do with those, but you may be interested in the hot dog eating contest, cupcake tasting, chef cook-off or chef demonstrations with Matt Selby (Vesta Dipping Grill); Eric Kolk (Maggiano's Little Italy); Keegan Gerhard (D Bar Desserts) and Top Chef: New York victor Hosea Rosenberg (Jax Fish House, Boulder).

If your will power still wanes thin, take solace in the fact that more than 50 metro area restaurants and food vendors will be on hand to make you pop like Augustus Gloop. Admission is free to the event, but you'll need a fistful of cash to eat and drink. For more info and menus, go to www.atasteofcolorado.com/food.asp.
