The James Beard Foundation just announced the finalists for its restaurant and chef awards, and while Colorado had a slew of semi-finalists when that list was announced last month, relatively few made the cut.
No Outstanding Restaurateur, no Outstanding Chef. The names that did survive: Frasca Food + Wine for Outstanding Wine Service, and Ryan Hardy of Montagna at the Little Nell in Aspen for Best Chef: Southwest.
The winners will be announced on May 3, the day after the publication winners are revealed. Both Jason Sheehan and Jared Jacang Maher are finalists in that contest for their Westword work.
