Japoix, the sleek Japanese/French spot at 975 Lincoln Street, has applied for a cabaret license in order to host live music acts and DJs. A hearing on the application is slated for February 4.

"We don't want to change the restaurant or lounge feel, but if we want to have a DJ or jazz quartet in the future, we have to have our bases covered," says owner Lawrence Yee. Those acts would set up in the lounge area at the back of the restaurant, which overlooks the city.
