Masterpiece Cakeshop: Commission sides with gay couple who say bakery discriminated

Today Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood was once again ordered to stop discriminating against same-sex couples seeking wedding cakes. The Colorado Civil Rights Commission unanimously upheld a previous ruling by an administrative law judge finding that the bakery violated Colorado's anti-discrimination laws when it refused to bake a wedding cake for couple Dave Mullins and Charlie Craig in 2012.

Does that mean that Masterpiece owner Jack Phillips will become the area's premier purveyor of same-sex wedding cakes? Maybe not. After today's hearing, Phillips said he hasn't baked a wedding cake for anybody since early this year because his shop has been busy filling orders from supporters for other baked goods.
