Here it is, halfway through the month of May, and we nearly forgot to tell you: May is National Hamburger Month. That's right, the hamburger, and its sexier sibling, the cheeseburger, get an entire month devoted to their all-American virtues. Coincidentally, May also marks the eleventh anniversary of CityGrille, the cow palace at 321 East Colfax whose banner boasts the "best burger in Denver," which is a subjective claim, of course -- and one that's not exactly propped by Jason Sheehan, who weighed on the best burger debate late last year.
Still, CityGrille has plenty of fans and you can bet they'll show up in droves for the joint's burger bash from 2 to 6 p.m., Thursday, May 28 when owner Rich Salturelli rolls out free "baby" hamburgers, $1 draft beers and a hamburger birthday cake, baked by co-owner and chef David Minty.

And that's not all: In honor of National Hamburger Month, CityGrille is also giving away dinner for four to one burger beast, plus if you purchase a burger this month from either CityGrille or CityPub, CityGrille's suburban outpost at 3575 South Yosemite Street, then you'll receive a discount to come back in June.
