Openings and Closings

McAlister's Deli opens a second Aurora outpost today

A McAlister's Deli opens today at 13950 East Mississippi Avenue in Aurora -- in a space formerly occupied by a Bennigan's and one of the doomed BenchWarmers. There's already a McAlister's Deli at 3471 Salida Street, also in Aurora.

The two units are part of the McAlister's Deli chain, which so far has outposts in Wyoming, Colorado (another store is slated for Colorado Springs), and North and South Carolina.

The business got its start in the Carolinas, as evidenced by its "Famous Sweet Tea," but there are more than a hundred other items on the menu -- with loaded spuds another specialty.
