Social media might have ruined yoga: With Instagram and Facebook posts of tiny LuluLemon pants in tree pose in front of waterfalls, or worse, the dancer pose requiring uber-flexibility polluting our feeds, it makes sense that some might be a little intimidated — or just downright annoyed. “Yoga has become more of a vanity-type exercise,” instructor Sarah Krzyzanowski, who teaches a weekly yoga class at Diebolt Brewing, says. “[A brewery is] an environment that is way more inviting than going to a studio.”

Krzyzanowski tends to see more new yogis, like men, in her classes held at the brewery — and she’s not the only one.

“More men will give it a shot,” says Denelle Numis, founder of Aprés Yoga, which is vying to be the leader of Denver yoga classes with booze involved. “They at least have the incentive to get the libation after class.” Numis finds that when you remove the studio aspect, people loosen up, make friends and stay a while. “People are on to the next thing after a studio class is over,” she says. “With this, they have the time allotted to have a drink after class.” Patrons generally stay for a beverage (or three) and chat with yogis, brewers and bartenders.

Whether you’re new to the practice, looking to meet an acro yoga partner, or just want an excuse to have a drink at noon, here's a list of nine of the city’s recurring yoga classes followed by libations.
1. Alpine Dog Brewing
1505 Ogden Street
720-214-5170

When
: Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Cost: $20 includes class and a beer.

Starting at 10:30 a.m. gives yogis a chance to sneak into the brewery before it opens to the public at noon. This class, run by Aprés Yoga, is held in the bar area, so you’re in the perfect pose to order a beer right after savasana.

Post-bend brew: Fresh Soul, a grapefruit session IPA .
2. Factotum Brewhouse
3845 Lipan Street
720-441-4735

When
: Sundays (depending on instructor availability; check the events page).
Cost: $15 includes class and a brew.

Here's another class where you get to post up in the brewery before it opens. This yoga flow is also held in the bar space — and always includes a guided meditation. If you can clear your mind and visualize your breath, you'll earn yourself a free beer. Punch cards are available for five classes for $60, which might be the cheapest yoga class in the city.

Post-bend brew
: Pretty Fly 4 a White Girl, a lavender-infused white IPA. 3. Logan House Coffee Company
3232 Walnut Street
720-515-7752

When: Select Sundays at 10 a.m. (check the Aprés Yoga events page).
Cost: $20 includes class and a beverage.

Before you jump to any conclusions, there are coffee cocktails included with this class. Held at the roastery’s warehouse in RiNo, exposed brick and the smell of delicious coffee beans keep people coming back for more.

Post-bend beverage: An Irish Coffee is a solid go-to, though there are bartenders whipping up a rotating menu of cocktails. 4. Ratio Beerworks
2920 Larimer Street
303-997-8288

When:
The first Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.
Cost: $15 includes yoga and a beer.

This might be the only yoga class where you can flow to punk bands like Fugazi and Hot Water Music. If you're looking for something upbeat and against the trend, try this.

Post-bend brew: Novo Hold Steady, a dark scotch ale with coffee. 5. The Art Hotel
1201 Broadway
303-572-8000

When
: Every other Saturday at 9 a.m.
Cost: Free! With $10 bottomless mimosas for sale.

You can score yourself a free class led by the well-known CorePower Yoga — if you can get your butt in some stretchy pants and over to the Art Hotel by 9 a.m. Open to hotel guests as well as Denverites, the "Vinyasa and Mimosas" series is taught on the FIRE Terrace—which is also where you can imbibe some bubbly post-workout.

Post-bend beverage: A mimosa (obviously).

6. Diebolt Brewing
3855 Mariposa Street
720-643-5940

When
: Saturdays at 11 a.m.
How much: $15 in advance or $20 at the door includes class and a beer (check the group's website for advance tickets).

Diebolt is known for creative beers like a honey-hibiscus saison and a bourbon-aged Russian imperial stout. You can practice where the magic happens amid the brewing equipment. Instructor Krzyzanowski enjoys the sounds of beer brewing in the background to loosen the vibe. She also encourages falling out of balancing poses because, “What better way to practice picking yourself up again?”

Post-bend brew
: Perk, a French saison made with Huckleberry Roasters coffee.

7. Lost Highway Brewing
520 East Colfax Avenue
720-440-9447

When:
Wednesdays at noon and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
Cost: $20 includes class and a beer.

Since the beginning of June, Aprés Yoga has taken over Lost Highway twice a week. If you're planning on making this a part of your summer "training," take note that Aprés Yoga offers punch cards — $75 for five classes — valid at any class taught by the group (which includes classes at Beryl's, Logan House and Alpine Brewing on this list, and more one-off events listed here).

Post-bend brew: Golden Ghost, winner of a 2016 World Beer Cup medal. 8. Infinite Monkey Theorem
3200 Larimer Street
303-736-8376

When:
The last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Cost: $15 for the class (no alcohol included).

The collaboration between the Yoga Mat, a popular studio on Larimer Street, and Denver's back-alley wine makers is oh-so Denver. Two hip RiNo establishments come together for two of our favorite things: spandex and booze.

Post-bend beverage: Any of IMT's carbonated canned wines, because this wannabe champagne is (truly) delicious. 9. Beryl’s Beer Company
3120 Blake Street
720-420-0826

When
: Every Thursday at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at noon
Cost: $15 or $20, depending on the leader; includes class and a beer.

When there are three different groups of instructors, all with catchy names, you know this is getting popular. Aprés Yoga, Bottoms Up Yoga & Beer, and BrewAsana — all yoga instructors pairing some vinyasa flow with beer — lead rotating classes at Beryl's. Take your pick, folks.

Post-bend Brew: Firecatcher, a barrel-aged whiskey stout aged in Mile High Spirits Fireside Whiskey barrels.
