"This is our favorite time of year," says Alexandra Geppert, Marketing and Operations Systems Manager for BSide, and its Larimer Street sibling, Star Bar. "This is like our Super Bowl."
Star Bar has always been known to attract more of a beer industry insider crowd during the GABF, and most other times, too. BSide, with 30 craft beer taps, promises more of the same, and a respite from the tourists swarming downtown watering holes.
"If you're kind of a nerd about beer culture," Geppert suggests, "hang out with us at the parties we're throwing, because we're gearing all of our events toward our favorite players in the game of craft brewing: beer reps, brewers, bar owners, bartenders -- the people who make it happen."
BSide has a handful of fun events planned, including "Kenny Lagers," a Kenny Loggins-inspired celebration of lager beers from Colorado breweries on Friday, October 3, from noon to 5 p.m. Stick around on Friday for a showcase of beers from Oregon's Gigantic and Breakside breweries, which begins at 6 p.m. and includes a meet-and-greet with brewery owners.
"We welcome everyone to check our the calendar on our website to see all the shenanigans we have planned," Geppert said. "If you want to hobnob with the craft beer insider crowd, then come on down to BSide." Staying downtown? Check out Star Bar's event schedule for the festival.
