World of Beer Cherry Creek celebrated its one-year anniversary at CitySet this past weekend. It was the first restaurant/bar to open in the Glendale project, but far from the last. Although last summer the developers had predicted that "the state's first urban gastronomic urban village" would be full by fall, the lineup wasn't complete until The Kitchen Next Door opened there late last month. Photographer Ursula Romaine recently stopped by to document the complete set of restaurants at CitySet, including two new Best of Denver award-winners. The rest of the lineup? Big Smoke Burger, a link in a Canada-based chain; Jax Fish House, the fourth in that homegrown group that just won Best Seafood Restaurant; Cuba Cuba Sandwicheria, a variation on the version in Boulder; and a second Colorado location for Udi's and Native Foods Cafe, which was named our Best Vegetarian Restaurant award. They joined earlier occupant Garbanzo, another link in a homegrown chain, as well as stores from national companies Panera and Cafe Rio.
