Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
An appreciative crowd of convivial drinkers bellied up to the bar last night at Ghost Plate & Tap, the site of Industry Denver's first Winter Talent Showcase, a cocktail-centric bash that pimped the mad mixology skills of several Denver bartenders, including Dante Reesman, Melissa Durant, Matty Durgin, Jason Patz, Anthony Giovanni and Ken Kodys. Each bartender collaborated with a local distillery -- Mile High Spirits, Dancing Pines Distillery, Peach Street Distillers, Spring 44, Spirit Hounds and Leopold Bros. -- and the cocktails (the majority of them, anyway) were worthy of an encore.
I was there for all the revelry, and brought back a gallery of photos that captured the merriment. For a full-on photographic journey of last night's festivities, check out our full Winter Talent Showcase slide show.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
