Are you ready for your Glendale green fix? The Bull & Bush Pub and Brewery reopened today after an eight-week kitchen remodel turned into a somewhat grueling four-month closure. But co-owner Erik Peterson says he has a nice kitchen to show for it, and promises that customers will appreciate the change.

"It took a lot longer than we expected, but we did it right," says Peterson, adding that everything had to be replaced, from the plumbing to the electrical to the grease trap. "I think we will be able to get back into the swing of things pretty quickly.

"The amount of phone calls we got every day asking when we were reopening was scary. The passion was unreal," he adds. "People were craving their green chile. I guess we have become part of the Colorado fabric in a way."

Most of the employees at the 41-year Glendale mainstay are returning, which should make the re-opening smoother. "And we are good for another 41 years. At least I hope we are, because I don't ever want to go through that again," Peterson says.

The Bull & Bush is now owned by Peterson and his brother, David. It was founded by their father and uncle in 1971; the kitchen hadn't been updated since then.

During the closure, the brewery continued to operate and the bar was open on most days, serving the Bull & Bush's award-winning beers. Keep reading for more photos.
