Elevation Brewing, which opened May 19 in Poncha Springs, recently released this video commemorating its journey -- complete with a speech from Governor John Hickenlooper, who was there on opening day.

River North Brewing continues its Barrel-Aged Wednesdays today by tapping Barrel Series No.3, Whiskey-Aged Quandary Quadrupel at 3 p.m.The brewery will also sell individually numbered bombers for purchase.
Loveland Ale Works opened a week ago today (on July 4). The taproom is open every day (for hours check their Facebook page). As for beers, a recent Facebook message said, "We are transferring our Mild to the conditioning cellar today and kegging more Saison. Brewing ESB tomorrow, and the IPA is getting kegged on Wednesday."

It's Sour Month at the Rackhouse Pub, which is tapping eighteen different wild or sour ales in July. Today's sour brew is Avery Emmitis, followed by Crooked Stave Petit Sour on July 13, AC Golden Dry Hopped Sour on July 15 and New Belgium Tart Lychee on July 17. This week's Friday firkin at Great Divide Brewing is an oaked Doppelbock they're calling Wunder Wald. "It's a sultry beauty and it taps at 3 p.m.," the brewery says.

Bottles of Kriek, the third beer in AC Golden's Hidden Barrel Collection, will go on sale at Mile High Wine & Spirits today at 3 p.m. -- by phone and in the store. Mile High will limit customers to one bottle per person, however. There will also be a free public tasting of Kriek in the store and representatives from AC Golden on hand to talk beer.
Copper Kettle will tap a firkin of Imperial Red at 4 p.m. The hand-pumped cask-style ale will poured alongside the same beer from a tap line so you can try it both ways.
The 16th Annual Colorado Brewer's Rendezvous will take place today in the town of Salida's Riverside Park. The family-friendly Rendezvous, a fundraiser for the Colorado Brewers Guild, will feature a record 62 Colorado breweries, all of them Guild members. In addition to the beers, there will also be music, food vendors and root beer.
Twisted Pine celebrates its 17th anniversary today by releasing Red Rye-der, made with München and rye malts and lots of American hops. The 6.1 percent ABV Red Rye-der will be available in 22-ounce bottles.
Sunday, July 15
The Avery and Ska breweries bring back their collaboratively brewed Skavery Wheelsucker Wheat, a German-style Hefeweizen, this week to commemorate the fourth annual BoulDurango bicycle ride that begins at Avery's home in Boulder and ends at Ska in Durango. During the multi-day trip, riders from Avery, Ska and other breweries will visit some industry colleagues. The ride gets started with a silent auction and tapping at Avery today and ends on July 23 with a second party and tapping at Ska that includes live music, food, and beer from Avery, Ska, Left Hand, and Great Divide.
Monday, July 16
You'll find Science on Tap tonight at the Denver Beer Co when Dr. Nicole Garneau, curator of human health at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, stops by to talk about the craft of brewing from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition to her talk, attendees can sample a beer made in partnership with Denver Beer Co and Dr. Garneau (to help name the beer, go to the brewery's Facebook page), mingle and network with fellow young professionals. Tickets are $25 and include two beers and food from the Uber Sausage.
Saturday, July 21
Wynkoop Brewing Company presents its second annual United Tastes of Belgium today from 1 to 4 p.m. featuring samples of Belgian-style beers from Colorado and the United States, along with a choice selection of brews from Belgium itself. Some of these delicious beverages include Arvada Beer Company;s Belgian IPA and Belgian Strong Golden Ale; Avery's Salvation, Reverend and White Rascal; Breckenridge Brewery's Elevation Belgian Pale Ale and Peak Six Belgian Vanilla Porter, along with many others. A selection of artisan-style chocolates and Colorado gourmet cheeses will accompany the beers. Tickets are $30 in advance and $37.50 the day of (if any remain).
Copper Kettle will release its Oak Aged Imperial Stout today at noon. The jet-black stout was "aged with oak spirals for a smooth and earthy finish." Pete Stein will be playing guitar from 6 to 9 p.m. and the Harvest Food truck will be on hand from 5 to 9 p.m.

Hops & Pie will bring Firestone Walker to the house for its monthly Littlest Big Beer Fest starting at 2 p.m. Enjoy flights and single pours of Parabola Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout, Wookey Jack black rye IPA, Double Double Barrel Ale, Double Jack American Imperial IPA, Solace Summertime Fusion Wheat Beer, and a firkin of UDBA, an unfiltered, cask-style amber ale.
Go to next page to read about beer events in late July and August: Saturday, July 28 Boulder Beer and Kyle Hollingsworth, keyboardist for the String Cheese Incident, will host the third annual Kyle's Brew Fest today featuring sixty beers from more than thirty breweries and a performance by the Kyle Hollingsworth Band. Hollingsworth, an avid homebrewer, is a fixture at some of the breweries around Boulder and has brewed collaboration beers with Mountain Sun, Avery and Boulder Beer, among others (some will be on tap at the Fest). His most recent collaboration with Boulder Beer resulted in Hoopla, a nationally-distributed pale ale that will be canned for the first time this summer and will hit stores on July 23. The Fest runs from 3 to 7 p.m. outside the brewery; tickets are $25 and available at www.kylehollingsworth.com. There will also be a silent auction when ticket holders can bid on rock memorabilia and more. Proceeds benefit Conscious Alliance, a Boulder nonprofit.

The Beast returns today at 6 p.m. Avery Brewing worships the annual return of its 16 percent ABV Grand Cru today -- and the demon ale will have friends as Avery will hold a "guided three-year vertical tasting of his manifestations with a pairing of exquisite culinary confections." Dad & Dude's Breweria will hold a release party today for its revamped Dank IPA, which is being brewed and canned under the authority of Bill Eye of Prost Brewing. American Craft Beer Radio will be in the house at noon, and there will be various giveaways from Dad & Dude's, Bartab and Big Shot Bikes.
Sunday, August 5
Avery Brewing will celebrate its nineteenth birthday today by throwing its biggest bash of the year from noon to 5 p.m. There will plenty of beer, live music and barbecue. Tickets go on sale July 13 at 9 a.m. More details to come.
