The long-awaited Avanti Food & Beverage opens at 11 a.m. today at 3200 Pecos Street, in a LoHi spot that features a terrific view of downtown. And that's not all: This modern food court packs in seven restaurant concepts from seven different chefs into shipping-container kitchens on two floors with two bars featuring lots of alcohol options...including Dogfish beer out of Delaware And that provenance concerns Ryan:

I'm sorry but this ridiculous. 20 Dogfish head taps out 40? That's asinine, there are more than enough wonderful Colorado breweries to fill those taps. Not really a great way to support local businesses if you ask me...

Do you care that Dogfish beer will be featured on half the taps at Avanti? What do you think of the Avanti concept in general? Will you go today?

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
