Cafe Society writers are serving up some of their favorite meal memories of 2010 on the blog this week.

Laura Shunk led this trip down memory lane with her "Top Five Meal Memories," which included tasty reminders of meals both near and far. The latter inspired this response from the ever-opinionated Mantonat:

Can you give us your top 5 IN DENVER? The reason we care is because it's Denver, not because it's you eating

Can't win for losing. Because Laura did include local spots on her list, and her reference to Chubby's inspired this from DenverScener:

Damn, I would hope that you would stay away from the original Chubbys for good

Fair warning: As other Cafe Society writers weigh in over the next few days, their meal memories will range far and wide.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
