St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday, so of course there will be lots of green shenanigans around town. You can find many St. Paddy's activities in our online listings. But there are lots of other culinary activities to slurp up this week: Tuesday, March 13:

Every second Tuesday of the month, the Denver Botanic Gardens harvests its fresh herbs to be used in a cooking demonstration at Le Central, 112 East Eighth Avenue, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Call 303-863-8094 to reserve a spot.

Wednesday, March 14:

The Shoppe, 3103 East Colfax Avenue, is featuring an exhibition of food-inspired art pieces.

Small Plates, Big Hearts -- a benefit for the Adoption Exchange -- takes place tonight at Infinity Park Event Center, 4400 East Kentucky Avenue. Denver chefs competing in the friendly competition include Troy Guard of TAG and Scott Parker of Table 6; visit the Adoption Exchange website for details. Thursday, March 15:

Every third Thursday of the month, Jonesy's EatBar, 400 East 20th Avenue, presents a four-course, family-friendly meal paired with beers from a local brewery. This month's featured brewery will be Boulder Beer Co, and a brewery rep will be on hand to answer questions. Call 303-863-7473 to RSVP.

Cured, 1825 Pearl Street in Boulder, will continue its weekly educational series with a beer-and-cheese class this evening. RSVP required; call 720-389-8096 to do so.

Sketch, 11 West First Avenue, is celebrating three years in business tonight with dinner specials from exec chef Brian Laird, performances by Ooh La La Burlesque and DJ Black Shadow Sparrow, and giveaways all night. Fado, 1735 19th Street, is hosting a charity event today as part of Paddython 2012, a week-long celebration of all things Irish. Bottomless Stella happy hour and music from That Eighties Band are just part of the festivities. Fado will donate 20 percent of all food sales to the St. Baldrick's Foundation to help fund childhood cancer research.

Freshcraft, 1530 Blake Street, is featuring a special menu item today and donating a portion of the sales to Water for People, a Denver-based nonprofit dedicated to helping people gain access to clean, safe water.

Troy Guard, exec chef and owner of TAG, 1441 Larimer Street, will offer an intimate cooking class tonight that includes cocktails and ends with a three-course meal with pairings. The cost is $75 per person. Call 303-996-9985 to reserve a spot.
