You snooze, you lose! If you live or work in the southern 'burbs, it's time to rise and shine -- and get to breakfast. Every year on its anniversary, Snooze chooses a nonprofit to honor. This year, the Snooze in Centennial will honor Art from Ashes, a Westword MasterMind winner that gives voice to youth through poetry.
From 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today, 10 percent of all Snooze sales will go to Art from Ashes. Good food, good cause. And once you start your day out right, keep reading for a taste of a smart way to close it out.
With the holidays approaching, there will be ample opportunity to show off the skills you can acquire at today's Seasoned Chef Class.
Seasoned Chef Cooking School will be offering a course on Eastern Mediterranean Tapas today from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., when chef Shellie Kark will guide you through the art of preparing small plate shared dishes. To register for the $75 course, visit theseasonedchef.com.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
