Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
With the holidays approaching, you know you have to host cocktail parties and other get-togethers -- but you have no idea what to cook. Stir Cooking School is hosting a class tonight that will solve all your problems and teach you how to make easy appetizers so creative and delicious that you'll impress yourself -- and, more important, your guests.

"Holiday How To: Appetizers and Hors d'oeuvres" will teach you how to make mini-beef Wellingtons with horseradish creme fraiche; bacon-corn madelines with black-pepper-agave whipped butter; artichoke-spinach dip; wonton cups with Waldorf chicken salad; and fig-and-olive tapenade with herbed goat-cheese crostini.
The class runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight, and tuition is $69 per person. Make a reservation online or by calling 720-287-4823.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
