Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
By this morning, most of the big names from the Democratic National Convention, Hollywood and the traveling press will have packed up their bags and headed for home (or the Twin Cities for the Republican National Convention). But for those of you who just aren’t quite ready to let it go, you’ve got one more shot.
The Early Show will be taping live this morning 5-7 a.m.at Racines (650 Sherman Street). And while we can’t promise that this will be a star-studded event, seeing former Denverite Harry Smith and Julie Chen right here in Denver is still better than just watching them on the TV. What’s more, the first fifty people through the doors will be getting a free breakfast, courtesy of Racines — CBS staff not included. -- Jason Sheehan
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
