The Great COntenders at the Wynkoop will give Colorado's GABF beers a frothy sendoff

The Great American Beer Festival, coming to town September 29 through October 1, is sold out -- completely. But that doesn't mean you can't find plenty of beer geekery all over town. One of the first big warm-ups will be the Great COntenders, taking place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, at the Wynkoop Brewing Company. Now in its second year, the Great COntenders aims to celebrate some 2010 winners and give a proper send-off to many of the beers entered into this year's GABF competition; after all, they will be representing Colorado on their home turf and battling for our state's sudsy pride.

The event, a fundraiser for the Colorado Brewers Guild, will feature more than fifty beers from more than twenty breweries around the state.

Tickets are $25 ($30 at the door), and if you buy them online at, you'll be automatically entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to GABF.
