Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Locavores, foodies and organic-amatrons: Rejoice! Your mecca, The Kitchen, will reopen tonight after a remodel, which has been going on since January 1.
"We aren't doing anything special with the menu tonight, and we're opening at our normal time of 5:30 p.m.," says manager Ray Decker. "The big stuff was done in the kitchen," he adds, "and we did some minor cosmetic stuff out front, including a new centerpiece." The expansion of the actual kitchen in the Kitchen has greatly expanded in size, allowing for more chefs to work there -- and more projects, like salumi.
The Kitchen is located at 1039 Pearl Street in Boulder. It's open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a "community hour" from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Dinner service is seven days a week, starting at 5:30 p.m., and weekend brunch runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
