No one has to tell a parent how difficult it is to get kids to eat anything that's not complete crap, McDonald's this and Doritos that. But celebrity chef Jehangir Mehta -- the runner-up on Food Network's The Next Iron Chef -- is trying to change all of that with the Kids Food Adventure, two hands-on kids' cooking classes today and tomorrow at Whole Foods Belmar, 444 South Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood.

Mehta will lead kids (and parents) on an interactive store tour, and give educational and creative cooking demonstrations. The adventure runs from 2 to 4 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow; admission is $30 for one child with one parent. Make a reservation at 303-935-5000.
