Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Opus, Michael Long's longstanding restaurant at 2575 West Main Street in Littleton, is hosting a wine and food pairing dinner honoring Italian winemaker and lettuce lord Lucio Gomiero, who, along with being a wine jester, just happens to grow more radicchio than anyone else in the world at his farm near Salinas, California.
The three-course dinner, priced at $45 per person, begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight and includes sea scallops with watermelon carpaccio and arugula, followed by mushroom and pancetta-roasted pork loin with mushroom risotto, Gorgonzola and sweet onion pork jus and, for dessert, vanilla-lemon panna cotta with summer berries, rhubarb preserves and biscotti. It all sounds fantastic, but where's the radicchio?
