It's almost the end of summer, which means soon it won't be warm enough to eat outside. That's the idea behind tonight's Feast in the Field -- al fresco dining at its best, with live music accompanying an all-Colorado meal from 6 to 9 p.m.
Almost twenty Colorado chefs have put together this meal; there will also be Colorado beer and wine, and some of the food will be harvested from the Gardens' own vegetable patch.
As you stroll through the Gardens at Chatfield, you'll pick up dishes at each tent (bring your own picnic basket with plates, silverware and glasses). Tickets are $100 to $150, and the proceeds will benefit the Colorado Chefs Association Education Fund. For more details, call 303-973-3705 or go to www.botanicgardens.org.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
