This year will be the tenth annual Soup for the Soul fundraiser, which supports Porter and St. Anthony Hospices, helping ease the end-of-life transition for people suffering from various illnesses. (The two hospices together provide five times the state average of charity care.) It's a great cause -- and you'll enjoy great food with it when you fork over the $95 entry fee.
The fee buys you samples of gourmet soups and appetizers from some of the city's best restaurants, plus the opportunity to purchase artwork from local and national artists in the silent auction.
Soup for the Soul runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, 1550 Court Place. You can purchase tickets by calling 303-715-7612 or visiting www.soupforthesouldenver.org -- and if your pocketbook can't quite stretch to the $95 price tag, visit the website to take a gander at the Soup for the Soul Cookbook, which offers eighty different soup recipes served at Soup for the Soul over the past ten years. The cookbook is only $25, which includes shipping.
