Tonight: See Sam's No. 3 on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives at the Oriental

The cute-as-can-be Sam's No. 3, whose spot at 1500 Curtis Street is very close to the original home of Sam's almost eight decades ago, was recently visited by Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives -- and if you missed it on television, you've got a chance to see it on the big screen tonight at the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue.

Sam's staff and friends will be there, and the screening will be followed by live music by the Mike Bauer band. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show's at 7; the evening is free, but a suggested $10 donation at the door will benefit the Gabby Krause Foundation. Visit www.theorientaltheater.com/show/detail/42192 for details.

Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
