A swell of Denver's top kitchen masters are playing with fire tonight at Elway's Cherry Creek, 2500 East First Avenue, the stamping ground for the second annual Hot Rocks Griller Challenge, a blowout bash and smokin' chef competition that benefits men's programs through the Denver Health Foundation.
Twelve of Denver's star chefs -- including Robert Bogart (Elway's Downtown), Michael Bortz (City Bakery), Jamey Fader (Lola and Big Red F Restaurant Group), Troy Guard (TAG), Jennifer Jasinski (Rioja and the upcoming Euclid Hall), Brian Laird (Barolo Grill), Matt Selby and Brandon Biederman (Vesta Dipping Grill and Steuben's), Goose Sorensen (Solera), Tyler Wiard (Elway's) and Sean Yontz (Tambien, Sketch and the upcoming El Diablo) - are participating in the spirited battle, which is all about sliders, side dishes and voting for your favorite dish. And If this year's challenge is anything like last year's, the chefs will also resort to friendly sabotage and sneaky shenanigans in order to get your vote.
