Things to Do

Tonight: Summer Cocktails for a cause at Strings

Nothing says "summer" like a cold, refreshing alcoholic beveragel -- and you can get a jump on the season tonight at Strings, 1700 Humboldt Street, which is hosting a Summer Cocktail Party fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. The beneficiaries are the Women's Foundation of Colorado and the Empowerment Council, which will use the funds to increase awareness of Colorado's dropout rate, as well as support research and education efforts. Admission is $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and includes appetizers and two drink tickets; sign up at 303-285-2960 or www.wfco.org.
