Kick your weekend off right at the fourth annual Winter Brew Fest at Mile High Station, 2027 West Colfax Avenue. This don't-miss event for winter beer lovers will feature tastings of more than seventy samples from upwards of 25 breweries.

The general admission ($30 in advance, $35 at the door) festivities start at 7 p.m., but VIP admission ($40 in advance, $45 at the door) gets you in at 6 p.m., and also includes a special beer-and-cheese pairing from Sierra Nevada and Cabot Cheese. There will be live music by Jubal and the Rude Boys, a silent auction (where you can bid on Outlaw tickets, a cheese basket and even a condo in Winter Park), and everyone gets a souvenir glass to take home -- plus, Hotel VQ is offering special rates as well as free parking and transportation to the fest, just in case you taste a few too many brews. Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
