Two very different entertainment options are on the culinary calendar today. In northwest Denver, Firenze a Tavola will host a dinner featuring the wines of the truffle capital of the world, Umbria. The special space at Parisi will be pouring three wines paired with a truffle-inspired feast for $58 per person; dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Make a reservation by calling 303-561-0234.
And Cherry Creek will be rocking, when Elway's Cherry Creek opens the Backyard patio at 5 p.m. today; The Long Run will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. The concert is a part of the restaurant's Taste and Tunes, a summer concert series that turns the Creek into cougar country every Wednesday. For more info, call Elway's at 303-399-5353; check out the full lineup here.
And don't forget, the presale for DISH, Westword's 21st annual celebration of the Denver dining scene, begins at 10 a.m. today. Find out more here.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
