The Mountain Sun Pub & Breweries group is getting ready to open its newest eatery and taphouse, Under the Sun, at 627-A South Broadway in the former Giovanni's space. That's right below the Southern Sun Pub & Brewery in south Boulder.

The restaurant will feature a lower-priced flatbread menu and other small plates; Top Chef Season Five competitor Melissa Harrison, formerly of Boulder, is consulting on the menu. Under the Sun will also serve 21 Mountain Sun-made beers, with eight to ten guest taps featuring beers from other local breweries. The dining room will have seating for about a hundred; there will also be patio seating.

The restaurant is slated to open in mid-February. In the meantime, Under the Sun is hiring "hospitalitarians," according to the following Facebook post:

The Mountain Sun is opening a new eatery and tap house in South Boulder very soon. We seek talented, dedicated, driven hospitalitarians for Front of House, Back of House, Prep, and Host positions....Back of House employees and potential kitchen managers and sous chefs must have 2+ years of experience on a commercial line. Front of House employees must have 2+ years serving experience. We seek applicants who will maximize the positive impact they can have on and for the team. Must have an infectious attitude, self- awareness, a charitable mindset, optimism, trust, and a long-term view of success.
We believe in enlightened hospitality so applicants must have a passion for the service industry and a non-compromising outlook that will lead them and their teams toward creative interactions with our guests....
