Win two tickets to the nearly sold-out Denver Burger Battle

The Denver Burger Battle, one of summer's most sizzling culinary celebrations, takes place Thursday, August 8 at Sculpture Park, where a dozen restaurants from across the state -- Park Burger, Juicy Burgers & Dogs, Grind, Larkburger, Highland Tap & Burger, Candlelight Tavern, TAG Burger Bar, Jax Fish House, EDGE, Punch Bowl Social, Linger and Crave -- will compete for burger dominance. And you and a guest can partake in the beefy, bloody brawl for free.

"We've always had the Burger Battle at iconic locations throughout Denver -- Coors Field, Union Station and Mile High Stadium -- and we're continuing with that tradition this year, holding our fourth Burger Battle at Sculpture Park, and for the first time, we have a mountain restaurant, Grind, in the competition," says Jeremy Kossler, who, along with his wife, Kelly, founded the Denver Burger Battle.

The smackdown, which will be judged by chefs Jennifer Jasinki (Rioja, Bistro Vendome and Euclid Hall); Lon Symensma (ChoLon); Brandon Biederman (ACE) and Biker Jim (Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs), as well as the public, offers a big prize for the people's choice winner, including the opportunity to represent Colorado's burger bounty at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, which takes place in November. Crave, which won the people's choice in last year's Denver showdown, took home sixth place -- and $1,000 -- in Vegas, which pimped forty competitors.

Every person who attends this year's Denver Burger Battle will waltz away with a swag bag, including a gift card to fly on Frontier Airlines (the cards are between $10 and $50 each), a bottle of locally-made Elevation ketchup (if you haven't tried this stuff, you should, because it puts every other ketchup to shame); spices from the Savory Spice Shop, and, says Kossler, "a bunch of other really cool things, like coupons for free burgers and cupcakes."

And speaking of free, here's how you and a guest can attend the Denver Burger Battle for the bargain basement price of zero: Crave's "Wiseguy" burger won the people's choice vote at the 2012 Denver Burger Battle. How many "Wiseguy" burgers have been sold at all three Crave locations since that esteemed Burger Battle win?

The person who comes the closest to the actual number without going over, will win. To enter, please submit your best guess, your name and a valid e-mail address (if you're already registered with MyVoiceNation, then we have your e-mail; if you're not, then we don't, and without an e-mail address, you can't win) in the comments section below.
