Colorado was the first state to legalize abortion, in 1967.
In 1967, Colorado lawmakers at the Capitol made this the first state to allow legal abortion. On May 2, protesters returned to the Capitol to protest the possibility that Roe v. Wade might be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. More demonstrations are planned for this weekend and next.
