Behind the Scenes at Fire

Behind the Scenes at Fire

"Nothing about this place was designed to be second-rate," observes Gretchen Kurtz in her review of Fire, in the Art Hotel on Broadway. Both the hotel and the restaurant are filled with art, much of it by internationally known artists. At Fire, chef Chris Jakubiec has a knack for turning simple dishes into distinctive ones: wings spiked with Korean chile paste, a pappardelle-and-lamb plate jazzed up with pickled currants. Photographer Danielle Lirette went behind the scenes to capture those dishes and more in the elegant surroundings at Fire.
