Chicano Community Celebrates Decades of Cruising Down Federal Boulevard

The Chicano community celebrated the longstanding tradition of cruising down Federal Boulevard on Sunday, August 25.
The Chicano community and friends took to the streets, driving from La Raza to Barnum parks on Sunday, August 25, to celebrate Chicano culture and Denver's long history of cruising down Federal Boulevard. To commemorate the occasion, Denver City Council named the day "La Raza and Barnum Park: A Cruise Down Fedz Day." Ben Chavez, Juan Fuentes, Armando Geneyro, Colorado poet laureate Bobby LeFebre, artist Jolt of Guerilla Garden, Denver City Council members Amanda Sandoval and Jamie Torres, Representative Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez, and Senator Julie Gonzalez all helped organize the event.
