Winners of the 2021 Mayor's Design Awards for Denver

Overlooking those monolithic apartment complexes, Denver is full of interesting projects — some resurrections of old buildings and spaces, others completely new structures. Sixteen of these were honored December 8 during the 2021 Mayor’s Design Awards ceremony at the Studio Loft, itself a revisioned use of the upstairs of the old Denver Auditorium, today the Ellie Caulkins Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The awards have been given since 2005 for excellence in architecture, exterior design and place-making, and this round included two private homes, several restaurants in buildings old and new, and two outdoor spaces.
