Food lovers and runners of all ages convened on a cloudy Saturday morning for the Fit Foodie Festival in Westminster City Park. Their goal was to not only conquer a 5K (or in some cases 10K) jaunt around the park, but to also indulge in tasty treats. Hosted by John Hancock Vitality and Cooking Light, the event centered on a mini-village made up of food vendors and sponsors. Bites prepared by the magazine's chefs, sparkling tea from Bhakti, healthy energy snacks from Thrive Tribe and more were served to the fitness-minded crowd. Cooking Light's executive editor, Ann Taylor Pittman, lead a few cooking demos while Olympic medalists Deena Kastor and Shalane Flanagan cheered on the runners. The weather stayed cool with spots of rain, but not enough to dampen the energy of a festive run and food fair.
