The Denver Chalk Arts Festival began Saturday, June 1, in Larimer Square. During a brief afternoon rainstorm, many of the works were washed away, but as the sun shone through, so did the artists' perseverance. Here are the pre-deluge early works; the festival continues until 8 p.m. June 2.
