On April 29, Denver City Council awarded landmark status to Cableland, the circa 1987 post-modernist mansion at 4150 Shangri-La Drive. Cable pioneer Bill Daniels built it as a residence and social gathering place, then gifted it to the city as an official home for the mayor of Denver. Although no mayor has yet lived there (and all of the current candidates have declined to move in if elected), the building stands as a landmark to Denver's days as the world capital of the cable television industry.
