Larimer Square May Be Historic, but It's Not History!

Larimer Square was Denver's first historic district.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. A month ago Larimer Square was included on the National Trust's list of the 11 Most Endangered Places in the country, "threatened by an inappropriate development proposal." On July 26, Larimer Square marked its 47th anniversary of becoming Denver's first historic district, and there was plenty to celebrate: The redevelopment proposal is on pause, and neighbors and preservationists alike are working to ensure that Larimer Square does not become history.
