With Cinco de Mayo coming right up, we set out on a mission to visit Denver's oldest Mexican restaurants. We found ten cantinas that have been serving green chile, tacos, enchiladas and burritos in the Mile High for at least five decades, building a solid foundation of Den-Mex staples that have rippled through the rest of the city — and kept bellies full for more than half a century. Join us on a tour of La Fiesta (1963), La Popular (1951), Mexico City Restaurant & Lounge (1967), Chubby's (1967), Rosita's (1963), Pete's Satire Restaurant & Lounge (1963), Taco House (1958), Blue Bonnet Mexican Cafe (1968), Lucero's (1962), and Brewery Bar II (1954). It's Colorado history wrapped in a tortilla!
