Great Thanksgiving Banquet at the Denver Rescue Mission on Wednesday, November 23.
Governor John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock hosted this year's Great Thanksgiving Banquet on Wednesday, November 23, at the Lawrence Street Center of the Denver Rescue Mission, handing out traditional Thanksgiving foods to the homeless. When asked what he was thankful for this year, Hickenlooper said: "Well, I'm thankful for my friends, for my family, for a strong economy that's helping and giving some better chance of fighting homelessness and helping shelters anytime you're here." Meanwhile, Denver Police Department officers and city crews were breaking down homeless encampments right outside the Denver Rescue Mission. All photos by Brandon Marshall.
