Unstoppable Artist Alexandra Squire Shares Her Hard-Earned Wisdom

Alexandra Squire (ascend 34)

As you venture through life, there will be many ups and downs. With these comes countless opportunities for you to learn valuable life lessons. In the case of Alexandra Squire, an abstract contemporary painter and artist from Bethesda, Maryland, she gained wisdom from shifting careers. She was once an on-air journalist with a bright future ahead of her, but not once has she regretted becoming an artist.

It all started with Alexandra’s desire to pursue art. When she was young, she remembers going to museums and being fascinated by what she has seen in her explorations. Not only were the artworks pleasing to the eyes, but they also evoked emotions that appealed to her heart. She wanted to deliver the same sensation to other people and impel them to ponder the meaning behind the masterpieces.

Due to her passion for art, she decided to leave her career in journalism. She knew that no matter how much she could achieve in that profession, she would never feel fulfilled. Her heart was longing for her to become an artist, and she felt in her gut that the best decision was to chase after it.

Alexandra is a firm believer that you should listen to what your heart is telling you. Of course, it’s essential to also be rational whenever you’re making decisions, but if you don’t let your emotions get a say in your judgments, you’ll end up feeling too restricted and suffocated. Therefore, make space for what you love in your life, as you deserve to live the way you want to.

However, doing what your heart tells you will take a lot of courage. In Alexandra’s case, she’s a mother of three, and thinking about starting a new career when she had to raise her kids left her anxious. There’s no telling where being a contemporary painter would lead her or if she would even be successful. Nonetheless, she courageously took the plunge to become an artist.

Most importantly, Alexandra learned through her journey that you should stand by the decisions you made. She was able to muster up the courage to take the first step toward her dream. However, this was just the beginning, and there were more obstacles in store for her along the journey. Because she overcame them, she’s now a renowned artist on Instagram and art shows regionally and nationally.

Creating art pieces isn’t easy. It takes a lot of patience, tenacity, and time to make them a reality, not to mention the years of learning and practicing to be a great artist. Therefore, naturally, Alexandra’s path to becoming a painter wasn’t always smooth sailing. There were many instances when she wanted to quit, but she believed that although it’s hard, she has what it takes to turn her dream into reality.

Besides her wisdom as an artist, Alexandra has also learned a lot from being a mother. Therefore, she also encourages her children to define themselves as empowering figures, whatever that may mean to them.
