The Goldyn Sessions Present: South of France at Goldyn Clothing Boutique (Friday, free) It's always a treat to catch a concert in a nontraditional setting, and you can do just that today at Goldyn. Browse the clothing and accessories and enjoy free drinks while you listen to the sweet tunes of Boulder's South of France. It's sure to be a cozy, intimate show that won't cost you a thing.

APS Art Educators 13th Annual Exhibit at DAVA (Friday, free) Tonight Aurora Public School art instructors will get together to display their art and also raise money for a scholarship fund to honor A.J. Boik, an art student killed in the Aurora theater shooting. This is good art for a good cause, because the show includes a charity sale with a portion of the proceeds going toward the scholarship fund.

The Root Underground at Casselmans Bar and Venue (Friday, $5) The Root Underground has just about everything: art, music, fashion and more. The event travels around to multiple cities, inviting artist of all types to showcase their work at one big party. You'll see a wide range of local art, tattoos and crafty wares at this artsy event.

Rawlitix: All for the love of Mike! at the Deer Pile (Saturday, $10) It's a very special Rawlitix: Onus Spears's variety show tonight is dedicated to local musician Mike Marchant, who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. All donations from the evening of music and comedy will go toward Marchant's medical bills.

The Watching Hour: Reflections of Evil at the Sie FilmCenter (Friday-Saturday, $7) Reflections of Evil filmmaker Damon Packard stars in his own bizarre cinematic epic: a very low-budget film about a sugar-addicted watch seller. Tonight you can see this cult film on a big screen, and appreciate such impressive filmmaking feats as the scene that features a ride at Universal Studios based on Schindler's List. Packard didn't have permission from the amusement park to film, so simply did it on the fly before he was kicked out.

Meet Captain Underpants! at the Tattered Cover Highlands Ranch (Saturday, free) The tenth book in the Captain Underpants children's series is coming out, and to celebrate the release the Tattered Cover Highlands Ranch is throwing a big, family-friendly party complete with an appearance by the Captain himself. Bring your kids for stories, activities and photo opportunities, and pick up a copy of the latest: Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-Boxer.

DABC's Melt Yer Faceoff Dance Party Fundraiser at Rhinoceropolis (Saturday, sliding scale donations) Dance to the tunes of DJ Firehawk at a party tonight that benefits the actions of Denver Anarchist Black Cross. In its own words, the organization "provides support to political prisoners, radical movement defense, legal support to local communities, and a community wide mutual aid fund." Support this cause while shaking your legs at what's sure to be a fun extravaganza.

Cody Kuehl Art Opening at Marion Street Tattoo & Gallery (Saturday, free) When the pipes froze at Marion Street Tattoo & Gallery last week, the shop had to postpone this art opening. Luckily, the pipes have thawed and you can check out Cody Kuehl's pop-art pieces tonight. Take in some art, snack and enjoy!

Arguments & Grievances at Vine Street Pub (Sunday, free) Arguments & Grievances is back with its first show of the year -- and the lineup is better than ever. The comedy debates continue with verbal fights about the merits of Ren & Stimpy vs. Tom & Jerry, Super Bowl vs. Puppy Bowl, and more. Hear hilarious local comedians spar verbally and cheer on your favorites.

Opening Celebration at the MCA Denver (Sunday, 10 cents) The MCA has not one, but three exhibits opening this Saturday, and they're celebrating with ten-cent admission all day as well as tours, free coffee and other special programming. Check out WIlliam Lamson's Action for the Delaware, Patti Hallock's The West Is Here, and The Ladies Fancywork Society's Fancygasm all for one thin dime.
